FastTrack Board of Directors recently met in Washington prior to the CISAC World Summit to elect its new Chairperson succeeding BMI’s Del Bryant. Buma / Stemra’s Hein van der Ree has been appointed for a renewable two-year term.
Hein van der Ree, born in 1954, is CEO of Buma/Stemra, the Dutch Collective Management Organisation. Prior to joining Buma/Stemra Hein  held the positions of Managing Director of Epitaph Europe BV, Vice president at Hollywood Records International in London, Managing Director at Phonogram UK and Managing Director of Island Music Publishing in London. During the period 2003 to 2010 he was a member of the Impala board, a European trade organisation for independent music producers including PIAS, Beggars Group and Naive. In addition to his activities at Impala, Van der Ree was a director of Merlin, a master rights organization for the independent producers who are united in Impala.

« FastTrack provides essential technology for the exchange of data between many authors rights societies via its CIS-Net platform. Its current and future functionality and services will be very important for the accurate and efficient administration of authors rights. FastTrack technology will also be used in the development and construction of the Global Repertoire Database. It’s an honor to be able to make a contribution to that process » said van der Ree.

In addition to Hein van der Ree, SOCAN’s Eric Baptiste has been appointed as Vice-Chair of the FastTrack Board of Directors.

« With the right direction, development and implementation, the positive potential for FastTrack is huge. As the name itself suggests, it’s vital that we work quickly and accurately, so that we can collectively deliver the right system for rights holders » said Baptiste.
